Taxonomy & Nomenclature
Synonym/s: Fretum grayi Sykes, 1900:141 (basionym); Belloconcha elevata Preston, 1913; Mathewsoconcha elevata (Preston, 1913)
Previously considered a synonym of M. suteri (Smith, 1992; MolluscaBase, 2022), but it was reportedly rediscovered in November 2022 (Power, 2022). It is now considered a valid species in the genus Advena (Hyman et al., 2023).
