Conservation Status

Last (and only) record: 1968 (Marriott, 1988); 23 August 1979 (Makinson, 2000:350)

Relocated or rediscovered in 1991 by Peter Olde (Marriott, 2001:5)

 

This species had previously been reported as rediscovered based solely upon vegetative material (Marriott, 1988), but after some of this material flowered it turned out to be a new species (Marriott, 1989), which was subsequently described as G. marriottii by Peter Olde. The true G. lissopleura was finally relocated in 1991 by Peter Olde (Marriott, 2001:5).
